    Tech Trouble

Post by HAIR on Tue Apr 01, 2014 2:44 pm

Hello so I got a iPod for Christmas and I finally decided to dig it out. Now I already have a Generic mp3 player(when I pug it in to my Computer it say "Generic"). Now for the problem within the last year whenever I'd plug said mp3 player into my computer and click a song it would tell me that song isn't on file. And if I just use the mp3 with the device and head phones I can play any song. I want to take the songs that I have on my Generic mp3 and have the same ones on my new iPod(even if I can't transfer I'd still want each song without paying for music I've had since High School).

If anyone knows how to Help please post

Have you tried mp3-youtube you can paste youtube links into the little search bar on the site and it will turn the youtube video into a mp3 you can upload to your ipod or mp3 it works even if your mp3 or i pod does not have video.

It turns the video into a file like that of a CD? I don't want a basic video file on my iPod(at least not for these songs).

    Thanks I'll try it

    anyone else?

When you say click a song, do you mean in a media player on your computer or on your mp3 player?

In that case I think the file needs to be on the computer for it to be played.

With some mp3 players I think you can upload to the computer, but I'm not sure. Do you have access to the computer you originally got the songs from?

Most of my songs came from CDs and honestly I don't know if I still have all of them. Now I did download about a dozen songs from online sites and I do have that computer but I am currently working on a second comp at the moment.

Then all you can do is copy those files on to a flash drive and transfer them to the current computer you are using. Finding the CDs would help too.

You mean take the files right from the mp3 and then on to the Flashdrive? cutting out the middle man aka the media player I've been using? Thanks I'll try it

Yeah, the media player isn't what's important. What matters is just getting the songs on the computer. That's why I always have a flash drive with my music on it.
